Managing orders and updating their status
Once your shop is live, incoming orders are collected in the orders section of your dashboard. A structured approach to handling these orders keeps customers happy and your daily operations running smoothly.
Keeping track of incoming orders
In the orders section you see every order at a glance, with key details such as order date, customer information, ordered items and the total amount. Clicking an individual order takes you to all the details, including shipping address, chosen payment method and any customer notes.
Managing order status
Every order typically moves through several statuses, such as pending, processing, shipped and completed. You update this status manually whenever the actual progress changes, for example once you have shipped a package. A well maintained status not only helps you stay organized, it also keeps your customers transparently informed about where their order stands.
Automatically notifying customers
If email notifications are enabled in your settings, your customer automatically receives an email whenever the status changes. This creates transparency, reduces follow up questions, and feels professional, without you having to write every message by hand.
Handling questions and issues
If you have questions about an order or run into an issue, such as an item that is no longer available, reach out to the customer promptly using their stored contact details. Handling problems quickly and transparently builds long term trust with your customers and reduces the likelihood of negative reviews.
Reviewing your orders over time
Use the collected order data to spot patterns too: which products sell particularly well? At what times do most orders come in? These insights help you optimize your range and your processes over the long run.
