Setting up a multilingual website
Want to reach international or multilingual audiences? With NoraPix you can offer your website in multiple languages. This not only increases the reach of your content but, when done correctly, also improves your visibility in search engines across different language markets.
Adding a new language
In your dashboard, under the Languages section, you can activate additional languages for your website. How many extra languages are available to you depends on your chosen package. Once a new language is activated, a dedicated version of your website is created for that language, which you can manage completely independently from the others.
Managing content per language
For every activated language you can write page content, navigation menus, product texts and other copy entirely on your own. This is not an automatic translation, you have full control over what gets shown in each language. That is particularly valuable if you want to adapt content culturally rather than translate it word for word.
The language switcher
As soon as multiple languages are active, a language switcher automatically appears in your website navigation. Visitors can conveniently switch between the available language versions at any time, without leaving the page. The most recently selected language is typically remembered for the rest of the visit.
Tips for a smooth setup
Make sure to translate every relevant piece of content, including menu items, buttons and form fields, so no language gets left behind. Also check regularly whether new content added in one language has been carried over to your other active languages, so every version of your website stays up to date.
