Setting up payment methods for your shop

For customers to actually pay in your online shop, you need to set up at least one payment method. NoraPix supports several established payment providers, so you can pick whichever fits your audience best. In this article we explain the main options and how to set them up.

Stripe for card payments

Stripe is one of the world leading providers for card payments and lets your customers pay directly by credit card, without ever leaving your shop. For customers in the European Union, 3D Secure protection is built in as well, which is legally required and significantly reduces payment risk for you as a merchant. To activate Stripe you need your own Stripe account and the associated API credentials, which you enter under Payment Settings in your dashboard.

PayPal for added convenience

With PayPal, customers can pay conveniently through their existing PayPal account, without entering any card details at all. For customers who already use PayPal regularly, this feels like a particularly comfortable and trustworthy option. You set up this connection the same way, using your own PayPal credentials under Payment Settings.

Additional regional payment providers

Depending on where your customers are located, additional providers such as Razorpay, Paystack or Mollie are available. These are especially useful when a large part of your customer base lives in regions where these providers are particularly common and trusted.

Offering offline payments

Alternatively, or in addition, you can set up a manual, so called offline payment method, such as bank transfer in advance. You provide your own payment instructions, which the customer sees after checkout. Orders placed through an offline payment method are only confirmed after manual review by you.

What to watch out for

When setting things up, make sure you are using the correct, live credentials for your provider rather than accidentally entering test credentials. Once set up, test the entire checkout flow yourself to make sure everything works smoothly before your customers rely on it.
